The end and the beginning

Wow, it has really been awhile!! The last post, was like in August? :P

Well, it just means that I had a lot of things going on around me. Study, family, money, and of course, my mr fiance! :D Yes, you heard it right!! (although I know a lot of people knew about this already hahaha). I have a fiance now, and a nephew and a lot of research works to do.

2012 has been pretty okay for me. Well, actually it is quite overwhelming. It is the year in which I managed to grab a decent scholarship. By decent I mean, a good amount of allowance, and a job secured insyaAllah. And the year where I started my Masters study in University of Malaya, doing molecular cancer research. The year a handsome cute adorable baby boy is born to a happy couple. :)

Aidan Mikhail, Mak Ngah is so happy and lucky to have u here in our family!!

And of courseeee, the year where I am officially engaged to Mr Andy (bukan nama sebenar haha). ALHAMDULILLAH for all that.

Thank you Allah for all the happiness and joy. I cannot wait for 2013 to come! :)

Will always be the best

The silver medal goes to Dato Lee Chong Wei! Of course, nearly all Malaysians think the same way, but I really personally think that he is still a winner. Like one of my friends posted on facebook: skill may win you medals, but attitude wins hearts - espn commentators-. :)))))

Sometimes in life, I feel this exact kind of disappointment, and it comforts me when people told me that it;s okay because I gave my best (although it seldom happened). Your effort is priceless! :))

So CONGRATULATIONS for making us Malaysians proud. And yes, like most Malaysians, I agree it is kind of sweet to see us Malaysians united during his match. Despite all the differences in political views, race, culture and language.

Welcoming Ramadhan :)

Alhamdulillah, all praises to Allah. I am still alive to enjoy Ramadhan again. :))) There is a short and simple tazkirah tonight just before the tarawikh prayers - During this time of the year (mid-year), there's a lot of offers happening in the shopping malls (discounts, bargains etc). Hopefully this time of Ramadhan, we manage to grab a lot of offers, BUT spiritually. Offers that make us closer to Allah, and Jannah InsyaAllah. :)

I have a lot of things that I want to improve during Ramadhan, hopefully I will succeed, if not all, then at least some of them:

1) To STOP thinking negatively of other people.
2) I dont know how to say it correctly in English - Untuk menyembunyikan keburukan orang lain, kerana nescaya Allah akan menyembunyikan keburukan kita di hari kiamat nanti, InsyaAllah - HR Bukhari dan Muslim. :)
3) To finish reading Al-Quran and to NOT skipping tarawikh prayers.
4) To give my best in my research.

InsyaAllah, may this month brings a lot of barakah from Him. Ameen.

Happy fasting everyone! Salam Ramadhan!

One step closer

Perasan tak I only update my blog like once a month je? Haish. I guess that's okay because you guys will not vomit reading too many of my entries. Heee.

Finally I have settled my agreements regarding my scholarship. Hopefully I can get the allowances by early July. Woohoooo. I am soooo in need of money right now because I have a lot to spend on my engagement and wedding! Yes, I am getting married. Siapa nak percaya budak hingusan ni nak kahwin dah? Hehehe. But yes, I am ready for this. :) I am ready to make a big step and grow maturely with it. :) I am willing to carry a huge responsibility, and will carry it very well on me.

Owh, regarding the scholarship, I am actually sponsored under the RLKA scheme by USM. If anyone is interested, you can just leave me a comment. But mine is under the medicine institute, so I cannot really guide you on other courses, but the general details of the scholarship is A-OK for me. :)

And I have officially registered in UM as well. And now I can proudly say that I am writing this in UM, using the internet which I have to log in using my own ID * Proud smile *. How cool is that *whistling*

I know I'm kinda late for this, but what do you say about the PTPTN issue? I did not take a PTPTN loan, so maybe I dont really have any right to say about it, but I hate it when people say we scholars cannot say anything just because we dont have to PAY for anything. What do you mean by PAY anyway? Maybe people cannot see it, but we do PAY. we pay through our hard work. You think you can whine and complain because people can clearly see that you PAY, but we paid as well. Through things that people cannot see. I am not bragging about myself, but I studied real hard from Day 1 in primary school. I pushed myself to be successful. We studied hard to get the scholarship, we even practiced hard for the interview (well maybe not for everyone), we tried hard to survive in unfamiliar places. I PAID a lot in that sense. And I still have to pay a bit of my scholarship (because I am sponsored under MARA). But I am not complaining. I still have to try hard to get the scholarship for my Master. I used a lot of money and time and energy as well. One year it took for me to finally get a scholarship, but I did not stop trying and paying. So instead of complaining, just focus on what you have to do. I am grateful. Honestly. What do you mean by I am not in your shoe. Put yourself in my shoe, and see if it's easy for you.

There's nothing free in this world. You should know that by now. Even as much to go to Heaven, you have to sacrifice a lot. WILLINGLY. That's the key to happiness. Even if you're not paying, someone else has to pay for you. In the end, it is about selfishness. What you want is not a free education, What you really want is YOU don't have to pay for the education, and let someone else carry the burden. If you have that kind of thinking, you will get nothing out of it. Trust me. Now go study and excel instead of playing around.

I hope people can think rationally.

Excuse me

This blog is getting pretty dusty. But what can I say? I am quite busy with my own life. I regularly went to the lab nowadays, and I have a new cool hobby that needs a lot of focus and patience. But I still love doing it!!! I'll show you some of my works laterrrr. Heh. And I'm still waiting for my scholarship. I know, I know. But what can you say? Blame the government!! They take ages to process my scholarship. My I-so-want-to-shop soul is weeping silently in my heart. LOL. I'm thinking of making a new entry after getting my allowances, however since I am being abandoned right now, there's nothing to do but complain!! :(

So what about you guys? Are things going pretty well for you? Hope it is. Have you watched Supernatural and Bones before? I HEART them. But the season ended already. And I am running out of good series/movies to watch. So life is pretty dull. Lab, work and no play at all makes Fina a pretty dull girl. Wink.

Woahh, I forgot to tell you. A new shopping mall has just opened last week. It was just next door!! (okay, a bit of exaggeration) But it is very close to my home!! If you want to know more about it, just google Paradigm or search the facebook page Paradigm Mall.  Even though I'm pretty excited because there are a lot of nice shops at the mall, the traffic has been ridiculously bad!! The parking is limited, and the walkway inside the building is quite crowded. You can say my excitement pretty much disappears when I walked into the mall. I miss my old KJ. I hate all these politics-related developments. The only development that I am truly grateful of is the LRT. Other than that, it's pretty much saddening. The government says we citizens should understand how important development is, but I guess they never think about over-development. Or you can say, they never aim at a better future, they only want a better present.

Sayonara.

Curly please?

I wonder why so many people are willing to upsize their meal to this:

I am included as well. Why is it that curly fries is more tempting than normal fries? Does that mean curly peeps are more tempting and attractive than people with straight hair? *I'm-not-sure-about-that laugh* But I loveeee A&W. :D Can't get enough of it.

I'm still waiting for my scholarship offer letter, without it I cannot proceed with my registration. Huhu. Duit oh duit. Okay today I have to admit I'm very very very bad, I did not go to the lab! Alaaa, malasnye arini. Bila dok pikir tak sudah2 evaporate methanol tu, and I have to wait while doing nothing. And my mood went like poof! disappeared. I want to bring my laptop but it's too big, I need a netbook laa. *Pretty puppy eyes* Okay Miss Shafinah, tomorrow you have to collect all your strength and go to the lab okay! Marah la ni dengan diri sendiri! *hempuk diri sendiri pakai paip besi* InsyaAllah, we can finish the methanol evaporation by the end of this week. :) Waktu tido tadi tak sedar diri, kan sekarang da menyesal! :(

Okay, now I want to proceed with my readings since I feel bad for not going to the lab. Bubye!

updating again?

For me, i like to write about my own life. Others might like something else. Like focusing just on knowledgeable topics, or religious topics or filled the blog with hundreds of quotes. I admire those kind of people, but what can I say, I'm too lazy to search online. So i guess, I like to give my opinion in my own blog, about things that actually happened to me. Because in reality, I am not the kind who can tell everyone what I am thinking of, whether I agree or I disagree, you know, stuff like that.

So, back on the topic of MY LIFE, I have started unofficially in UM. Things have gotten pretty busy, I came to lab everyday quite often. I am actually glad I have something to work on after nearly more than a year doing nothing at home. However, I am dying to get my official offer letter, because until I hand the offer letter over to USM, I wont be getting any allowance! I need my allowance so badlyyyyyy. I miss shopping at CalaQisya, Shawlforyou and also CalaMan!!!! Owh and I also miss Sushi Kinggggg (I think I just went there last week lol). and I need a new pair of sandals, and a new laptop :P and I want to eat steaks again at Showru and Im dying to get new clothes and bags and OMG, the list can go on and on forever!! :P So the conclusion is I NEED MONEY!!!! *evil laugh*

And of course, I want to make a big step (sebesar kapal titanic mungkin?) in my relationship with abg edy. But that will have to wait until I get my allowance. Okay, i think i should change my entry title to allowance instead. :P

I want to upload abang edy's new car here, but I think maybe I shouldn't because of the plate number. I know Im being paranoid, but I dont think it hurts to be a little careful. The world is over-crowded with super-evil villains after all.

I feel sad for my youngest sister, but I think (I really hope) she will be fine. Some men are born to break women's heart, but Im sure one day you'll find a loyal one, and maybe even someone that can even glue your heart pieces back? :) InsyaAllah.

A special entry :)

I'm taking this opportunity to post a new entry on a special date which comes once in four years! Woohoo!!! About me? Sorry, today's post is not about me, it's about the special date, naughty you! :P Well, err, hmm... *thinking hard* i honestly don't know what to write. Okay, okay, I lied to you, this entry is about me after all! *gedik giggle* Had an awesome (reunion) day with my ex-housemates. :) Anddd, alhamdulillah, abang edy's loan has been approved and we are waiting anxiously for the new car! *if you're happy and you know it clap your hand*clap*clap* And I guess that's all la kot? Maybe after I got my offer letter, I will have more story for you guys, hope so? :)

Wait for me

Hi everyone! How long has it been? A month, i guess? Well, things have been busy lately. NO, I am still not working or studying. :P Alaa, busy with my family laaa. Anyway, I have applied formally to UM for the Masters research program, and I am still waiting for the outcome. Sighh. I dont know how long will this take. But hopefully I can start in March! Because I need my allowance badlyyyy!!! :P Except for that, there's nothing much to update. Owh, abang edy's car loan has been approved but he needs a guarantor from his parents with at least 3 months' pay slip but his parents are both rubber tappers. :( I dont know how hes going to solve this. Hope everything will be okay. And owhhh, Fia's brought her new bf home. Well, I guess he's okay, not sure about my parents, but so far, all us siblings are okay with him. :) And Fia's will start working permanently at YL Chee firm in March. Congrates!! Ida hasn't find her luck yet, but Im sure she will soon! :) Usaha tangga kejayaan! Or in english effort is the way to success!! (Btoi ka?? hahaha). I guess there's still a lot to update huh? Anyway byeeee. Have a nice day!

Statistics and Hope

I am now fully realized that I do not trust anything unless I experience things myself. I know, this is kinda stubborn, but the truth is, there is NO TRUTH!! For example, this person says I know this place called ____ is the best in the world, and then I asked, have u been to ____? and he/she answered, 'nope, never been there before'. So tell me, honestly, how can I trust that his/her statement is true? This might sounds like a discrimination, but this is from my point of view, so I also realized that there can be no truth because two persons can do the same thing, but can experience it differently. For example, I studied in Sydney and has been to Melbourne before, and I still think Sydney is the best! But some of my friends that studied in Sydney and has been to Melbourne, think that Melbourne is the best! See? If I have not experienced this myself, I might think that Melbourne is the best city in the world til the day I die even though I haven't actually been there. Tricky huh? Well that's why I never trust what people said or what the newspaper wrote or what the statistics told me. Because even if it says 99%, if you are one of the lucky person in the 1% group, this statistic does not apply to you, and hence you can say the statistics is somewhat irrelevant.

Well, the reason I blabbered this much about percentage and statistics, is because I know someone who reads a lot of these knowledgeable (I doubt that now!) articles, and thinks his/her common knowledge is outstanding, and hence he/she has the right to judge other people's personality or mentality or whatever. There will never be two beings that are 100% similar. Someone is calling me. So I'll stop now. Byeee. :)
